Fieldwright Pro

Privacy policy

Last updated 23 September 2026

This policy covers this website, the licence server behind Fieldwright Pro, and the two plugins. It is written by Methodical, a digital studio in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which is responsible for the information described here. Questions and requests go through our contact page.

The short version

  • The free plugin sends nothing to us or anyone else.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising.
  • If you buy Pro, we keep your email address and the sites your licence is activated on, so the licence works and we can help you with it. We never sell it or use it for marketing.

The free plugin

Fieldwright: Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce Block Checkout runs entirely inside your WordPress site. It makes no requests to our servers or to any third party, and the values your customers enter at checkout stay in your WooCommerce database. You are responsible for those values under your own store's privacy policy.

This website

The site sets no cookies. Our host, Vercel, keeps short-lived server logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

Buying Pro

Payment is taken by Link, Stripe's payment service, which is the seller of record. Link collects your card details and billing address and handles them under its own privacy policy; we never see your card number. From Stripe we receive your email address, the plan you chose, and the identifiers of your customer record and subscription, and we are told when a payment is renewed, refunded or disputed.

We keep a record of your licence: your email address, the plan, when it expires, and what has happened to it (bought, emailed, renewed, refunded). The licence key itself is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that cannot be turned back into the key. To show you the key after you pay, an encrypted copy is kept for one hour and then deleted.

We email your key and download link to the address you paid with. That email is sent through Brevo, as is a fresh download link if you ask for one on our download page. Apart from those, we only email you to reply to your own messages and to tell you about changes to our terms.

Writing to us

The contact form sends your name, email address and message to our inbox through Brevo, so we can reply. It is not stored on this site, and we keep the email only as long as the conversation needs it. The server counts messages per IP address for an hour to keep spam out, the same way as the download page.

Using Pro

When you activate your licence, and about once a day after that, Pro sends our licence server:

  • your licence key;
  • your site's address and a random identifier for the install;
  • the versions of Pro, WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP it runs.

We use this to count your activations against your plan, to deliver the right updates, and to see what you are running when you ask for help. It includes nothing about your customers or their orders. For requests that carry no licence key, the server keeps the sender's IP address in a rate-limit counter that is deleted once its time window has passed.

Who processes it

These services handle information for us, each only for its own part:

  • Stripe and Link: payments, receipts, renewals and refunds.
  • Vercel: hosting this website and the licence server.
  • Neon: the database that holds licence records, in the United States.
  • Brevo: sending the licence email.

Some of them store data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, where it is subject to local law. We do not sell or rent personal information, or share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your licence record for as long as the licence exists, and for up to two years after it ends, so we can answer questions about it and deal with any refund or dispute. When you deactivate a site, its record is kept with your licence's history until then. Payment and tax records are kept by Link for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to us from the contact page with the address on your licence. Deleting your record cancels the licence. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to a privacy regulator; in Canada that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and we will email licence holders about anything that affects them. Our terms of sale cover the rest of how licences work.
