Fieldwright Pro

Terms of sale

Last updated 23 September 2026

These terms cover buying and using a licence for Fieldwright Pro. They are between you and Methodical, a digital studio in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (“we”, “us”). By buying a licence you agree to them. Questions go through our contact page.

What you are buying

Fieldwright Pro is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, like WordPress. The GPL governs the code: once you have it, you may use, study, change and share it under that licence.

What you pay for is a licence key, which for one year from the day you buy it:

  • turns on Pro's features on up to the number of sites your plan includes;
  • gives those sites Pro's updates, delivered in WordPress like any other plugin update;
  • and entitles you to support by email.

The plans are Single (1 site), Agency (up to 5 sites) and Studio (up to 20 sites). A site is one WordPress install; staging and development copies count. You can deactivate a key on one site and activate it on another at any time. Pro needs the free Fieldwright plugin, from WordPress.org, installed and active on the same site.

Payment and tax

Payment is taken by Link, Stripe's payment service, which is the seller of record. Your receipt and card statement come from Link, and the payment itself is also covered by Link's terms, which you accept at checkout. Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax, VAT or GST is added at checkout where it applies, and is shown before you pay.

Renewal and cancelling

A licence renews automatically each year at the price of your plan, and you are charged on the renewal date unless you have turned renewal off. Link emails you before a renewal is charged. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt or at link.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your licence keeps working until the end of the year you have paid for. If we change a plan's price, the new price applies from your next renewal after we tell you, never to a year you have already paid for.

When a licence ends

If a licence is not renewed, Pro keeps working for 14 days after the expiry date. After that, Pro's features switch off on the sites it was activated on, and those sites stop receiving Pro updates; the last version your licence covered stays installed. The free Fieldwright plugin and orders you have already taken are not affected. Renewing turns Pro back on.

Refunds

You can have a full refund within 14 days of buying or renewing, with no questions asked. A refund cancels the licence. The details are in our refund policy.

Support

Support is by email: write to us from the contact page, or reply to any email we have sent you, for as long as your licence is active. We answer within two working days, usually sooner. Support covers installing, setting up and using Pro, and problems with Pro itself. It does not cover custom code, other plugins or themes, or building your store for you, though we will tell you if we can see where a problem lies.

Using the licence server

To check a key, a site sends our licence server its address, the key, and the versions of Pro, WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP it runs. We use this to count activations, deliver updates and help you when you write to us, and for nothing else; our privacy policy has the details. Please do not share a key beyond the sites your plan covers, or try to get around the site limit. We may cancel a key that is used that way, or one whose payment is reversed.

Warranty and liability

We test Pro carefully and fix the problems we are told about, but it is provided “as is”, as the GPL says, without any warranty that it will suit your store or run without errors. Keep backups, and try updates on a staging copy before a live store.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost sales, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for your licence in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will email licence holders about any change that affects them. A change applies from your next renewal, not to a year you have already paid for.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you buy as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the law where you live.
